Words from the Director General eng_wordofdirector Words from the Director-General The city education makes efforts on the following points: initiating with “citizen involvement”, the city government aims at “indigenization as the basement with the solidification of community and international horizon” as long as the establishment of Blessed Kaohsiung as the cadre to actively expand local education and innovative education, to develop school features, to emphasize adaptive learning, to strengthen moral education, and to advocate international participation; we hold innovative education, indigenous foundation, and international connection as the direction of educational development; we deem organization re-engineering, international education, local education, teacher profession, sustainable campus, innovative teaching, marine education, and reading plan as the longitude to promote educational policy; we combine 12-year compulsory education policy by Ministry of Education to advocate integration of kindergartens and daycare centers, to solidify educational systems, to implant educational source, to elaborate teacher education and professional growth, to cultivate knowledge-economy talents, to innovate education industry, to develop multiple modern citizenship, to promote exercise and health of all citizens, to respect multiple cultures, to concern about the needs of the disadvantaged and special education, to expand international and cross-strait education, and to intensify life-long learning and learning society as the latitude; we increasingly construct city educational innovation, improve equity, upgrade educational quality as the educational vision; we foresee the tendency of future education, annually modify educational policies to ultimately cultivate city students as world citizens with high competitiveness.
